This course is designed for future and practicing educators and educational leaders who are responsible for designing, organizing, and implementing a standards aligned curriculum for their school district's English Language Arts program. The course provides educators with an in-depth look at standards alignment and contemporary professional development techniques through a variety of models from coaching to developing professional learning communities (PLCs). Educators will examine literacy initiatives already underway in school districts as they explore and develop systems of continuous improvement in literacy curriculum, instruction, intervention, and assessment.
